Yamsen
held three multisensory days in May for children and adults
with complex and multiple learning needs.
Our activities were
inspired by Alice in Wonderland and the Secret Garden. We danced
to live music, built spider webs, played instruments, and even
followed the white rabbit down the rabbit hole!
The annual multisensory
days are an escape into a vibrant environment full of new things
to see, hear, touch and smell.
Participants'
comments:
'The Rabbit
tunnel, the music was great. All activities were enjoyable for
the pupils. Also, there were enough props for all! Also plenty
of helpers so all could particiapte.'
We liked 'lots of
tactile experiences and time and space to move around independently.'
'A very special day
out that was completely suited to [our pupils'] needs'
We liked 'the fact
that there were activities to be enjoyed through all the senses
and for a range of ages; that all pupils were naturally included.'
Clients gained from
'taking part in group activities, instruments, sensory experience,
meeting different people.'
