The Lord Mayor's Annual Town Hall Christmas Carol Concert

Yamsen:SpeciallyMusic
held their 28th Annual Christmas Carol Concert in Leeds Town Hall.

The concert featured a fantastic variety of holiday songs from One Accord children's choir and Off By Heart adults' choir, two of Yamsen's singing groups for people with learning difficulties.

The choirs were accompanied and supported by Off the Cuff band and other Yamsen instrumentalists, East Steel on steel pans, and Simon Lindley with the Leeds Parish Church Choir and the Yorkshire Evening Post Brass Band.

We heard a mix of familiar and new songs, rousing tunes and beautiful melodies.  We even had a surprise singalong when the brass band played 'White Christmas'!

The town hall concert is a great opportunity for
us to showcase the many talents of our special clients.

The concert features a prizegiving celebration
for the winners of our annual art competition.
With the help of Liz and Dave from the Elm
Gallery, we selected three winners from each
age category, an overall winner, and a winner
for the most original picture.

The Lord Mayor of Leeds, Councillor Reverend
Alan Taylor, congratulated our performers and
shook hand with the art competition winners.

Four of the winners will see their artwork on our
2012 charity cards.

We are grateful to
The Nowell Cottage Fund,
Leeds City Council and
The Co-operative Membership Community Fund
for generously supporting this concert.
